Vista Health employs over 400 employees ranging
from physicians, nurses, administrators, psychologist,
therapist, social workers, school teachers, maintenance,
dietary, housekeeping, landscapers, and a long with
many others whose goal is to provide the best possible
patient care in both NWA as well as the River Valley.

Brief History of Vista Health Fayetteville:
Ground
was broken on the current 10-acre site of Vista
Health located at 4253 Crossover Road in Fayetteville,
Arkansas, on May 10, 1982. The doors of Charter
Vista Hospital opened for business in April of
1983.
The facility was originally part of the Charter
Medical Corporation and was the first private
freestanding behavioral health hospital in the
state of Arkansas.
In 1988 Charter Vista Hospital opened their first
satellite outpatient clinic in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
It is still located at the original site at 3800
Rogers Avenue. In 1998 an additional outpatient
clinic was opened in Harrison, Arkansas to serve
the Harrison/Mountain Home area and is currently
located on Main Street in Harrison.
On September 1, 2000 Charter Vista Hospital was
purchased by Texarkana Behavioral Health Associates
and renamed Vista Health. The senior management
team, Medical and Professional staff was retained
and continue in place today. Without the burden
of the Charter corporate structure, Vista Health
has been able to grow and take advantage of the
opportunities that the marketplace offers.

Health located at 10301 Mayo Dr in Fort Smith
, Arkansas , in July, 1983. The doors of Harborview
Hospital opened for business in September of 1984.
The
facility was originally part of St. Edwards Mercy

On
September 1, 2000 Charter Vista Hospital in Fayetteville
was purchased by Texarkana Behavioral Health Associates
and renamed Vista Health. In June of 2003, Texarkana
Behavioral Associates purchased Harborview Hospital
from St. Edwards Mercy Medical System and named
the Hospital Vista Health-Fort Smith. The majority
of the senior management team, Medical and Professional
staff has been with the facility for years, and
were retained in the acquisition and continue
in place today. The 57 bed hospital primarily
treats children & adolescents but do provide
treatment to some adults as well.

Health's Fort Smith , Arkansas location in the
River Valley provides a confidential, safe, caring
environment that promotes crisis resolution, positive
self-awareness, social skills and personal growth.
Our inpatient and outpatient mental health services
are designed to help children, adolescents, and
adults having difficulty with psychiatric, behavioral
and emotional issues that have a direct impact
on families, schools, careers, marriages, and
relationships.
The
treatment process begins with a comprehensive
evaluation to help diagnose any underlying medical
or biochemical origins of disease. An individual
plan of care is developed for each person. The
focus of treatment is crisis stabilization, and/or
resolution of one or two key treatment issues.
The
length of stay in the hospital varies with each
person. Vista Health Services - Fort Smith , AR
, also offers outpatient services to help the
individual transition back to everyday life.
