Setting
Ground was broken on the current 10-acre site
of Vista Health located at 4253 Crossover Road
in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on May 10, 1982. The
doors of Charter Vista Hospital opened for business
in April of 1983.
The facility was originally part of the Charter
Medical Corporation and was the first private
freestanding behavioral health hospital in the
state of Arkansas.
In 1988 Charter Vista Hospital opened their first
satellite outpatient clinic in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
It is still located at the original site at 3800
Rogers Avenue. In 1998 an additional outpatient
clinic was opened in Harrison, Arkansas to serve
the Harrison/Mountain Home area and is currently
located on Main Street in Harrison.
On September 1, 2000 Charter Vista Hospital was
purchased by Texarkanna Behavioral Health Associates
and renamed Vista Health. The senior management
team, Medical and Professional staff was retained
and continue in place today. Without the burden
of the Charter corporate structure, Vista Health
has been able to grow and take advantage of the
opportunities that the marketplace offers. In
September 2002, Vista Health opened another outpatient
clinic in Bentonville, Arkansas
